The Children's Liturgy is intended for young children to help them understand the biblical Readings and celebration of Mass. It is the Gospel and prayers brought to a level that children can listen to and understand.
Each Sunday at 10.00am Mass, all the children are invited to the Sacristy during the Liturgy of the Word with a trained catechist. They begin by praying simple prayers, listening quietly to the Gospel and then discussing it. They also do their activity, colouring, cutting. Children return to the congregation to share in the Liturgy of the Eucharist with their families. After Mass children with their Parents are invited to a meeting in the Parish Hall, where some refreshments are served. The children prepare the Liturgy from time to time, when they have the introduction to Mass, read the Readings, Responsorial Psalm and the Bidding Prayers, and sing the songs. Before Christmas they usually take part in the Christmas Play. |
